Ever get in a car on a sunny day in winter? Wonder how it feels so warm inside when the air outside is freezing? That's the infrared light from the sun.
In this same way, infrared saunas penetrate up to 1-1/2 inches below your skin to detoxify and revitalize your cells.
The infrared sauna is a powerful means of cellular cleansing. It increases your metabolism and boosts blood circulation. It also relaxes your muscles, soothes your spirit and rejuvenates your entire body.
The deep penetration of infrared heat releases toxins from the fat layers just beneath the skin. It also helps your body eliminate toxins from your internal organs. These toxins pass from the organs to the fat tissue under the skin. Then they are eliminated in perspiration.
With regular use, infrared sauna can help you:
The source of our daily issues are locked in the unconscious. Rebirthing Breathwork is a powerful, safe, and gentle way to bring them to surface awareness for health and clearing.
Rebirthing Breathwork is a process that supports individuals in upgrading the quality of their thinking. This stress-relieving breathing includes the ability to experience greater inner peace as well as feeling connected to, and caring for all of humanity. It is a profound tool that resonates at such a deep level that blame becomes obsolete, forgiveness becomes natural, and taking complete responsibility for one's life becomes the only option.
Using a deep connected breath for approximately one hour, the Rebirthing process releases stress and tension from the body and accesses and releases stored emotion. The rebirthing breath opens the body’s energy channels and accelerates the flow of creativity and intuition.
Rebirthing is learning a relationship with your breath and the power of the breath as a function of the body. Circular or conscious connected breathing is normal for the body but is often suppressed by the emotions and events of the past.
Rebirthing relieves the negative charge in cell memory.
Rebirthing sessions with a practitioner aim to facilitate positive change through working with the breath and taking responsibility for thoughts, feelings and actions. The sessions will help to identify birth trauma, family patterns, inherited attitudes and specific negative thoughts.
The main challenge to health and happiness facing humanity today seems to be unmanaged stress caused by unacknowledged and unprocessed feelings.
The Rebirthing breathing technique greatly increases the ability to experience joy.

As we say goodbye to 2016 and get ready for 2017, we have one final new moon on December 29th. This is always a time to set goals for new year, but a new moon in Capricorn will help us reach those goals!
The new moon is the perfect time to clear your space of old, stagnant energy and manifest your desires.
Here’s what you need to get started:
Begin by clearing your space. You may want to light some incense, use a clearing spray, or light a candle. You might even want to build a crystal grid that focuses on what you’d like to bring about. Take a few minutes to meditate.
Decide what you want to create, and be clear about your intention and your desires. DREAM BIG! Write down your goals and the desires of your heart. Write as much as you can. Be clear about your desires and your intention. Write in the present tense, as if you already have these things.
No goal is too big or too small for your notebook! In fact, writing down smaller, easily attainable goals is a wonderful way to create an abundance of positive energy. As these smaller goals are met, you will feel gratitude and happiness, creating more positive energy and momentum towards your bigger goals
Visualize what it would be like to experience all of the desires you are putting into your notebook. The best time to write them down is within 9 hours of the new moon, but any time within the first 24 hours is the perfect time.
During the rest of the month, remember to visit your visualization notebook and repeat the visualization process. And don’t forget to cross off items that you receive with gratitude!
For more assistance in prepping for the new moon and the new year, set up a reading to gain some insights!
We will be open until 6 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016.
We will be closed Saturday, December 24 - Sunday, December 25.
We will reopen on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 10 AM.
We will be open until 6 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 and will be closed on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Wishing you and yours a happy and safe holiday season!

Optimal performance, prevention of injury, and reduced healing time are main concerns for athletes, whether youth or professional. Floatation therapy provides the most stress-free and natural healing environment found anywhere.
Floatation Therapy reduces recovery time from training, injury or surgery. Mental acuity and visualization abilities are enhanced. It allows each individual the opportunity to reach peak performance. The benefits achieved, before or after a game, in a one hour session are significant on their own, but when compared to other therapies, floatation spas are in a category all their own. This provides a rare opportunity for athletes who are suffering from various types of joint and/or muscle pain, sprains, surgeries, injuries, etc. The density of the Epsom Salt is a natural anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer, and puts the body into a a state of total relaxation which allows the body to naturally begin to heal itself.

Why every Athlete should jump into a Float Tank
It is an incredible and highly-effective way of relaxing and relieving stress. This is a very widely-accepted therapy and is used by a number of world-renowned athletes to treat various sports-related conditions and aid in their recovery. It is also beneficial for those who don’t play any sports but want to better manage the stresses in their system.
What is notable is the fact that the positive effects of floatation are also cumulative – the more frequently you use this therapy, the more you benefit. After several floats our clients frequently comment how they crave time in the float tank, it becomes very addictive. Sports-people from various fields, use this experience to optimise the effects of their training routines, manage fatigue, and speed-up their recovery from sports injuries.
Which Athletes use Floatation Therapy?
Whilst floatation has been around for quite some time, it is more known in some sports than others. Commonly we see floatation being widely used within the following sports:
This list is not exclusive and with a growing momentum, jumping in now before it takes over your sport will give you the edge!
The Benefits of using a float tank in sport
The AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) sees flotation tank use as integral to the training regimes that their athletes’ follow. The different benefits of using flotation therapy are:
In the floatation tank, gravity isn’t a factor. The complete relaxation that it provides, gives all the muscles the much-needed break they need. The benefits are truly impressive. When the person is in the tank, every single muscle in the body gets the rest it needs and the time to recover. Though you may feel that lying in bed or a sofa has the exact same effect, the fact is that gravity is always at work and this adds stress to many parts of the body.
Furthermore epsom salts are a magnesium and sulphate – a muscle relaxant and a protein builder for your joints. Not only can you truly decompress in the float tank, you absorb the minerals directly into your muscles, allowing you to be noticeably less tense as soon as you get up!
Recovery Time Frame
When the athlete is in the flotation tank, the actual rate of recovery post physical exercise is enhanced beyond recognition. Recovery that would generally take a very long time gets compressed into just a few hours. Since floating in the water that has high concentrations of Epsom salt reduces the stresses of gravity, the weight and pressure is taken off strained muscles, joints and bones. This increases the efficiency of the blood circulation right through the body. It also significantly improves the recovery time after injury.
Sports Performance Improvement
Athletes that use floatation therapy in combination with visualisation techniques experience a very significant improvement in their performances. As the person’s brain transitions into a theta state, it becomes much more open to suggestion. The CNS (central nervous system) can essentially be effectively trained to produce ‘perfect performance’. Today a number of top athletes across Australia and the U.S. use this technique to relax and up their performance in their chosen sport.
Working Against Gravity
While floating, gravity pressures gets taken-off the muscles and joints & the entire body is put in to a state of high physical relaxation. The blood pressure & oxygen intake reduces the blood flow and distribution of red blood cells increases. These combined effects are especially beneficial to athletes, as it speeds the recovery from injury & assists in flushing-out cortisol, lactate & adrenaline that might have built-up either via training or performance.
Reduces Injury Risk
Floatation loosens the muscles & gives athletes a higher degree of control in their nervous systems. In effect, this reduces injury risk during training/competition. Floatation accelerates the athlete’s recovery process and releases large quantities of endorphins (natural painkiller of the body)
By being in an environment that facilitates sensory isolation, which is another component of floatation, the athlete truly has the space to reach the level of concentration required to have a tangible effect on his/her performance. Many modern training methods are focused on helping athletes master their “inner game” and assist in developing perfect synchronicity between body, mind and emotion and where better to find yourself then in a setting that is designed to help you lose yourself?
Floatation is also used by many people in helping them identify areas of tension that they were not previously aware of. Many people report being able to have a sense of a certain body part, “out of their body” whilst floating, drawing attention to an area that they can then go to their practitioner of choice for diagnosis and treatment.
Taking care of yourself is necessary for a happy, healthy life. So often we believe we don't have time to take care of ourselves due to the many demands of work, family obligations, or limiting beliefs that we carry. However, self care can be easy, and is the most important gift you can give yourself and those around you!
Here's how you can do it:
Hello! I'm Adriana Benoit, founder of Mystic Flow Wellness Center in Gainesville, VA. I'm a native of Costa Rica but have lived in Virginia for a long time now. I didn't always want to own a wellness center, it became a desire of mine after having two children and running my other business, a preschool called Daytime Playtime, for the last twelve years.
I'm dedicated to helping kids have a great experience learning, growing, and exploring as childhood events greatly influence how they'll view life as an adult. So four years ago, I became a therapist learning integrative practices to use in my preschool in order to provide an even more joyful atmosphere focusing on holistic (mind-body-spirit) wellbeing for the kids.
I soon realized that to be able to bring that level of wellbeing to the children it first had be to made accessible to the parents. That's where the idea originated for creating Mystic Flow Wellness Center. I imagined a welcoming center that provided services to parents to help them align their lives with the harmony, balance, and clarity so they could be the best parents possible to their kids. I wanted to teach them how changing their perspective on life could change the overall quality of life by allowing for more joy and peace.
Mystic Flow isn't just for my preschooler parents, it's for everyone wanting to regain the balance in their life and enhance their self-care practice in a wonderful state-of-the art wellness center. I've taken great care in acquiring the very best holistic practitioners in their field. They're ready to provide their wisdom and expertise to help you bring balance in areas of your lives requiring attention and love.
